Edward Carter Poindexter
March 15, 1851 - August 29, 1914

Edward Carter Poindexter was born in Virginia but came to Montgomery County, Missouri, when he was about 17 years old.

Edward Carter With His First Wife - Mary Elizabeth Oliver (Molly)

They married on March 01, 1874 in Montgomery county, Missouri. Edward is buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Montgomery county along side of his wife, Mary Elizabeth, who died on March 05, 1888. Ed and Mary lived in Montgomery county. They had three daughters and one son. One of Edward’s brothers, Joseph Poindexter, also lived in Montgomery county for a time. When Ed and Molly were young marrieds, they shared a “double” or dog-trot cabin with Joseph and his wife. (Joseph and family later moved to the Mount Pleasant, Texas, area where 4 of his 5 children died of diptheria. Only one daughter Pearl survived.)

Second Wife – Nancy Boswell (Nannie)

They married on March 01, 1874 in Montgomery county, Missouri. Edward is buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Montgomery county along side of his wife, Mary Elizabeth, who died on March 05, 1888. Ed and Mary lived in Montgomery county. They had two daughters and one son.
