One of the little-known stories of World War II is the fate of the tiny Channel Islands, the only part of Britain invaded and occupied by the Germans. Drawing on the real experiences of survivors, this compelling new drama tells the story through the eyes of three Island families and the German soldiers with whom their lives become intertwined. Heart-pounding suspense and unexpected romance unfold in an atmosphere suffused with the moral ambiguity of war. Starring James Wilby (Gosford Park), Clare Holman (Prime Suspect 6), Philip Glenister, and Saskia Reeves.

The British Isles famously held out against the Nazis during World War II — except for one unlucky corner of the empire. A five-part tale of collaboration, resistance, loss, and love, Island at War dramatizes the fate of the Channel Islands, occupied by German troops as a prelude to the planned invasion of Britain.

In Toni’s Footsteps – The Channel Islands’ Occupation Remembered : A documentary looking back at the occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II with the aid of the diaries and interviews of German soldier Toni Kumpel and Bob Le Souer.

Adapted from his autobiography, The Eddie Chapman Story, this is the story of a British safecracker who was in prison when WWII broke out. When the Germans occupied the area, he offers to work for them if they will set him free and they do so, sending him as a spy to England. Once there, however, he offers his services to the British and becomes a double agent.
